Shortcut to Fabulous Necklace for your Valentine’s Day Wish List

So I have a new crush! It is Tiffany’s Filagree Heart Pendant with Key. Anyone that knows me knows that I am not a “hearts” kind of girl…I curse too much to be into hearts. In fact, I don’t think I currently own anything with hearts on it. However, when I came across this necklace in an advertisement gracing one of my favorite magazines, it was love at first sight.  I didn’t notice that the hearts feature the word “Tiffany” spelled out on the petals until I went to the website. I love that the Tiffany name is not an over-obvious, “Look at me I am wearing Tiffany jewelry and had my picture taken in front of Tiffany’s in New York last year” labeling of the name.

I went online and emailed a link to my husband who told me that Valentine’s Day was a holiday created by retailers who want to pillage his wallet. So, I am guessing he wont be buying me the necklace, but it doesn’t mean that I have not added it to my Valentine’s Day wish list. I plan to mention the necklace at every opportunity and wear him down…I will let you know if it works…it worked for the Chanel bag I got a few years ago and this is much less expensive!

The necklace in sterling silver is $200. The silver and 18k rose gold necklace is a bit steeper at $575. 18k gold and white diamonds is $6,000.

Other more affordable mini crushes from the Tiffany necklaces include the mini bow pendant is sterling silver $115 or the Elsa Peretti Round pendant in sterling silver $175.

Shortcut to Fabulous Luxe Look for Less

I am always glued to see the Spring trend forecasts around this time of year! The fact that gold is forecast as a trend for Spring has me feeling like a Gold Dress would be totally market in my wardrobe! I am in love with Milly Dress in my Luxe Gold Outfit styled below, but found some more budget friendly Luxe for Less looks to match my less than luxe budget! What I love about a gold dress is that you can wear it to dinner or drinks and for an elegant night out on the town, the ballet or an opera perhaps. You can create a more winter appropriate look by pairing the dress with black opaque tights and then lighten things up this Spring with bare legs or nude hosiery and some strappy sandals. Check them out…

Shortcut to Fabulous Interview Tips

career imagesFor most people job interviews are nerve wracking and no fun at all. I happen to love interviews because I feel like it is my chance to show a potential employer how fabulous I am!  Here are some tips and tricks to help you show potential employers how fabulous you are…and you are!!!!

Be nice to the gatekeepers…receptionists, secretaries, assistants. They often have close relationships with hiring managers and will tell them about a negative interviewee.

Show that you are a team player and if you’re not figure out how to be one!

Be prepared to answer the following questions:

  • Name a strength and a weakness
  • Where do you see yourself in five years
  • What is a challenge that you have overcome and how did you overcome said challenge

If you already employed expect them to ask, “why x company, why now?” Answer is a positive way!

  • “I’ve had an amazing experience at company “A,” but I am interested in company x because I think the position allows me to utilize my skills to maximum capacity and provide the most value to my employer.”

Confirm an interview the day before. It shows that you are responsible and understand that rescheduling sometimes occurs.

Arrive at the interview 10 minutes early. If something happens that has you running late, call and let them know you will be running late. We’ve all been late to important appointments, so a phone call is much more likely to put the interviewer in an understanding mood when you do arrive.

Cover tattoos and piercings. Only one earring per ear!

Write a thank you note or email within 24 hours of the interview.

Miami Monday…Shortcut to Fabulous Shakespeare in the Park

Romeo_and_juliet_shakes_miami_2011_poster_copy-682x815So, Shakespeare is not really my cup of tea…he didn’t write chick lit plays about fashion right?! This year’s Shakespeare in the Park is featuring one of the more palatable of Shakespeare’s plays, Romeo & Juliet. The event will take place from January 21-30 at 8pm at the Shell Lumbar Stage (2733 SW 27th Avenue) in Coconut Grove. There will also be 2 pm matinee performances on January 23 and 30. What a fun date night! Prepare a picnic, bring a comfy blanket and enjoy some culture under the stars! Don’t forget the wine…Shakespeare without wine seems like a recipe for…a good long snooze. Click here to visit the website and get more information.
