Shortcut to Fabulous Spring Trends

It is time for a new wardrobe update. I found some great trends for Spring that will be easy and affordable to update your wardrobe:

1.  Tunics. tolucaThe Tunic is a big tend this spring and is super versatile. Use it as a beach coverup and for a fresh daytime look with white jeans or leggings. Go from day to night with some skinny jeans, strappy sandals and fun clutch. Fell like a tunic gives you no shape? Belt it and create definition. I love the Tunic pictured here on sale at J.CREW for $49.99. Click on the photo to purchase.

lace2. Ladylike Lace. Lace is everywhere this season. This is probably my favorite trend because it is so ladylike and has a vintage vibe. You can incorporate lace into your Spring wardrobe with tops, skirts or even a full head to to lace look like this dress from Forever 21, $29.99. Click on the photo to purchase.

wedge3. The Wedge. Nothing says spring than a wedge sandal and this spring they are EVERYWHERE in all kinds of un prints, shapes and sizes. I am still partial to basic black or neutral because they are the most versatile, but the bow on these BP Sandals, $49.95, from Nordstrom adds a little extra something.

floral4. Floral. Floral prints are big this spring and smaller flower patterns dominated the designer runways for spring 2011 collections. This is probably the trend that I predict will be the most fleeting, so this floral dress from Forever 21, $19.80, is a good option. Remember, scrimp on trendy items and splurge on classics.

Miami Monday…Shortcut to Fabulous Walking Tour

toursMiami Design Preservation League runs guided walking tours through Miami Beach’s Art Deco district everyday at 10:30 am. The tours depart from the Art Deco Welcome Center (1001 Ocean Drive – 10th Street & Ocean Drive) and cost $20. If you are a senior or a student you get a $5 discount. You don’t need a reservation, so it is a great impulse activity to do on a day when you decide you want to be outdoors.

I recently had the opportunity to go on this walking tour and I must tell you that it was nothing short of fabulous. It is a great way to learn more about the history and architecture of the trendy district. You get to enjoy the beautiful weather and meet some interesting people. Plus, the tour takes you inside some hotel lobbies where you learn secrets and insights about the hotel’s past and the mob connections. My tour lasted about an hour and forty five minutes and ended just in time to go grab some brunch somewhere. I promise you won’t be disappointed!!!! Click here for more information and the low down on tours.
