Shortcut to Fabulous Fun Clutch

Nanette Lepore Straw Clutch $195.00

Nanette Lepore Straw Clutch $195.00

I am on the hunt for a natural woven/wicker/straw clutch that looks classy and will go with anything in my summer wardrobe. I have found a few contenders, but nothing that matches the image that I have in my head for the perfect summer straw clutch. The closest match is the straw clutch by Nanette Lepore at Bloomingdales pictured on the left, but the $195.00 price tag puts it on my wish list or wait for a Bloomies coupon to come along list.

While searching for the perfect straw clutch that goes with everything, I found the cutest straw clutch that goes with almost nothing, but makes my heart go pitter patter. This clutch has the best little vintage vibe and I feel in my gut that this would be a great investment piece. It is Lilly Pulitzer and really unique and special, but timeless at the same time. At $98.00, I feel like this is an affordable splurge, but I just had to buy a new Kindle cause the screen broke on my old one, so I am praying the shopping Gods will smile on me with either a Lilly sale or nothing to tempt me for the rest of the month at my favorite retailers like Anthropologie and Marshalls. If I only had the willpower to stay away from stores….

What is on your summer wish list? Has you ever been looking for one particular item and then got completely sidetracked and fell in love with an item that does not meet your “need,” but makes you want it like a cupcake when you are dieting?

Shortcut to Fabulous Tea Time

tea setcambria coveI went to a fabulous tea party about a month ago to watch the Royal Wedding at a friend’s house. This friend is oozing with diva style and everything she does is fabulous. The tea party was straight out of the teat party text book complete with scones and clotted cream, beautiful china and a fabulous full bunch of gorgeous white hydrangeas. The party made me realize that I am missing an important component to being fabulous…having a fabulous set of tea cups and saucers at the ready for a tea party. I stumbled upon the set pictured here and this is now at the absolute top of my wish list…well right behind a Chanel handbag and a pair of the new Christian Louboutin Prorata curved pumps in nude. The price is a little steep…$150, but this is a commemorative set of tea cups and saucers includes one cup and saucer each in Royal Albert patterns from the first five decades of the 20th century: 1900 Regency, 1910 Duchess Spring, 1920 Meadow, 1930 Polka Rose, and 1940 English Chintz. Oh and they are dishwasher safe. Click on the picture to get them. It comes in the hat box shown in the photo. I found the same set sans hat box for $139.99…click here for that price.

Shortcut to Fabulous Fun Dresses

Crossover Bodice Dress $98

Crossover Bodice Dress $98

Apparently I have been hiding under a rock because I just discovered this week that Jessica Simpson’s fashion line includes clothing. I know that I am basically admitting that I was late on a shortcut to fabulous fashion, but lovelies, it just goes to show no one is perfect! I made this discovery while on a lunch break shopping trip to Ross. I found my new favorite summer dress photographed here, the Crossover Bodice Dress. If you click on the photo you will be taken to the dress collection of Jessica Simpson website where this dress sells for $98.00. I found mine in Ross for $39.99, but when I went to another location to see if I could size up (the size 2 I purchased fits but leave no room for my annual summer weight gain…yes I actually gain weight during bikini season….grrrrr), there was not a Jessica Simpson dress in sight. So, it looks like it is hit or miss with discount retailers as far as finding dresses from the collection.

Not only am I in love with this dress, I am also in love with most of the dresses in her collection. Some of my favs are photographed here. Doesn’t the Poppy convertable dress have a Milly NYC feel and the belt and skirt are removable and can be worn seperately! The emobroidered skirt halter dress has me completely salivating!

Shortcut to Fabulously Delicious 100 Calorie Treat

Frozen Yogurt Bar side waysIn the downtown square of my mom’s city in Mexico, there is a paleteria that sells the most delicious strawberry ice pop. It is so creamy and delicious. I am pretty sure it is made with yogurt, but whatever it is made of, those paletas make my tummy smile. I am sure they are not very figure friendly, but I can never resist the creamy yumminess when I am there. I found a yogurt pop at whole food recently that put those authentic pops from Mexico to shame. They are made by a company called Julie’s Organic. The Strawberry Yogurt pops are only 100 calories and contain healthy stuff…what could be better than a delicious treat that is actually good for you. I highly recommend these pops for those warm spring and summer days when you want nibble on a frozen treat to beat the heat. I am now a Julie’s Organic addict and I just love that my addiction is only 100 calories…not bad for a self proclaimed cupcake junkie! I get my fix at Whole Foods, but click here to find a store near you that carries Julie’s Organic. Click here to visit the Julie’s Organic website and learn about the whole line of awesome treats they have.

Miami Monday…Shortcut to Fabulous BOGO deal at Miami Museums

imagesDid you know that the month of may is Museum Month in Miami? What does that mean for you? It means that you can get a museum ticket for half off when you buy one at regular price. The Wolfsonian exhibits an astounding collection of modern objects—both the rare and the overlooked—from the 1885 to 1945 era, demonstrating the active role design plays in motivating actions, expressing ideas, creating desires, and shaping identities.
