Shortcut to Fabulous Happy Hour Finder

happy houred

It is Friday and Five o’clock somewhere in the world, so that means it is time for Happy Hour. I found you two fab apps that will help you select a great happy hour to get your weekend started on the right note. Frist up is called, Happy Houred. This app is totally free and has listings for over 22,000 happy hours in 2,000 U.S. cities and towns. There are fact checkers that make sure the stale deals are deleted. Every bar listed has a bar profile. You can find the best happy hour by searching for the type of the type of drinks you are looking for…no more getting stuck in some lame bar that serves cheap wine…what is a happy hour withoutwine or bubbly?!! I just love the graphics on this app…they make me happy before I’ve even taken a sip of alcohol and it is so easy to use! For worldwide drinking and debauchery, I use the App, Drink Specials. This app has a cool feature in that you can verify or stike a drink special and when it does the search it tells you how long ago the special was verified. Plus this app is worldwide!!!

So, get your drink on and make sure you toast to Shortcuts to Fabulous.

The boutique takes orders over the phone and I am such a fan of their accessories, I am a frequent shopper.

Shortcut to Fabulous Nude Pumps…Splurge Alert…but with a $100 bonus!

Screen shot 2012-05-08 at 9.11.10 PM

I fell off the wagon yesterday in Neiman Marcus, but in my defense, I have been searching for the perfect pair of Nude pumps that will work well with my olive skin tone and make me look thinner than a runway model. I acutally spotted them a few weeks ago. I tried them on, fell in love and then said to myself, “Lori, shoes do not define you. You don’t need to spend $500 on a pair of shoes to feel good about yourself.” My credit card and I walked away unscathed…but these shoes have been haunting me in my dreams, in the shower, at work, at lunch, while watching trashy television. Basically, these shoes have consumed my life for the last several weeks.

I know shoes should not define me, but these do. They say, “smart, sassy, sophisticated and knows where to spend and save her money.” These shoes are the epitome of perfection when it comes to Nude pumps. It is so important to find a pair of nudies that work with your skin tone and these are pure perfection for those of us with “olive” skin. So skip a few meals and splurge on a fab pair of Nude pumps. These are $520 on the Neiman Marcus website but for some reason were $495 in the store. I got the last pair in my size (36) so they must be selling out fast! Oh and right now you earn $10,000 bonus points with a $350 purchase on shoes or handbags with your Neiman Marcus card, which basically means you will get a $100 gift card because with the In Circle program, once you hit 10,000 points they send you a $100 git card!!! Right now this is a total no-brainer! Click here to get them.

Shortcut to Fabulous New Cheap Flight Site

old-style-suitcase

There is a new cheap flight finder sight Drugli.com. The site works by having you fill our your departure city, the date you want to travel (you can check a box to look a the whole month) it will provide you with a list made up of nothing but the cheapest flights. This site is great for the spontaneous travelor as it doesn’t seem to let you search flights too many months in advance. I did a quick search from Miami and the cheapest destination was Berlin for $298 Euros.

Shortcut to Fabulous Vintage Finds

estate sales

Vintage shops seem to be price gauging these days and find a treasure at an affordable price is getting harder and harder. I blame it on Sex and the City, but I guess that is the price you pay for priceless television and film. Carrie made it cool to wear vintage and every fabulous girl needs a little vintage in her closet. There are numerous routes to vintage treasure hunting, but one of my favorites is going to estate sales. Estate sales are usually sales of the entire contents of a home and you can find some great stuff. But how do you find estate sales? Ah….that is where I come in…am I not the girl who finds you shortcuts to fabulous living? Okay, so here is the dish. There is a website called EstateSales.net and they list estate sales all over the country. The best part is that you can get an emailed list of Estate Sales in your area every week. What I love about this site is that it is a collection of auctioneers and estate sale organizers who are using this as a way to advertise their sales and drive traffic, so they post pictures of some of the items and you can get an idea of whether the items pique your interest. I am not going to lie…there is a certain creep factor in rummaging through a deceased persons belongings in their home, but if you remind yourself that you are helping their family earn some cash and it is the same stuff you would see in an overpriced vintage store, the creep factor diminishes. So, arrive early and happy hunting!

Shortcut to Fabulous Blogger with the Best Hair Tutorials

IMG_9589

Despite all appearances I am extremely lazy when it comes to putting myself together. I love looking fabulous, but if it takes too long I am soooo not into it. I am always looking for a quick way to look polished and “it.” Well, I found a website that will give you lots of great picture and video tutorials for fabulous hair in under 10 minutes. The blogger, Abby from My Yellow Sandbox, gives amazingly easy to-do hairstyles that truly anyone could create.  What I love is that you see her doing the style in real-time. I tried a few out and they are fab…in fact, I wore the Chignon to a wedding this weekend and got lots of compliments. My sister-in-law thought I had my hair done at a salon…I was shocked because I am just not very dexterous with my hands…you should see my handwriting and my attempts to draw. Anyhow, I digress. The point is this is a great resource when you don’t have time or money for a salon visit or your favorite blow dry bar. You will definitely need a lot of bobby pins for just about all of these styles, but you should find a few that can be done quickly and work with your hair. Be warned that if you have layers, you will not get through a metal detector with the amount of bobby pins you will have to use.
